SA login failed error messages

SA login failed error messages

getting the applicatin log filled with login failed for the ACT db. 

I have tried the actdiag which says the password isn't right with either blank or what the password should be

I tried the SecuirtyCMDLnAPP and the fallbacksqlpwdreset.bat file to reset it but the errors are still coming up

You will get that error message if the XXX-databasefiles folder can't be found in the directory that it is looking for it in.  For example if you have moved your database to a new drive.

The database hasn't been moved, is there any what to see what file path its expecting or even change it?

Browse to the database PAD file and remame to OLD

 

In ACT Using File Open Database select option The Databse Is not Listed. 

 

Now browse to the database but change the option from PAD file to ADF file.

 

Click on your database, it will create a new PAD  and try to open the database

Hi,

I am not sure if it is the same issue, but in my case I cannot create a new database. When I look into the SQL server log, it says "SA login failed". Furthermore, if I look at the Logins under the server node in SSMS, there is no users such as ACTADMIN, ACTACCESS ...

Try this:

 

1)  Close Act!

2)  Create a new password for the SA user.

3)  Run securitycmdlnapp.exe "<your new password"  (include the quotes)
