I do daily backups of ACT Prem 2011 version,... like ACTOCT14 or ACTOCT15.
If I am going to restore to latest file (sometimes required) then I have to update
the Database name from ACTOCT14 to the latest ACTOCT15.and consequently
all my Cryst.Report file to update and make new updated connection towards
the ACT latest database.
I like to make a database always with the same name like "ACTLATEST" which is
holding the newest version database.
I cannot restore with same name, that is not allowed according to ACT.
I think a batch file with delete/rename/overwrite might do it. ??
Anybody with a good idea.??

do not rename the database that way ever!!
1) backup your existing database
2) either delete the database or detach it using ACTdiag and then move the files (alf, adf, database files)
3) then you can do a File, Restore AS of the backup or file Restore to place the database of the original name in the original location.
hope that helps.

Thanks that is maybe a solution, but doing your procedure every day is a lot of typing work
No Batch file to be made ??? or a Macro remembering the key movements (or similar workaround)??

no, i'm not aware of a batch file that does this? I' guess i'm wondering why? why not just open the database accross the network or why not set up sync?
What are you gaining by doing file, restore every day? (this is a new one for me)

I can not think of any reason for doing what you are asking. Normally you set ACT to back up daily for the last 5 working days.
We need to know what you are trying to achieve as this is a very strange request and has no obvious advantage!
