Unfortunately one of our databases is missing over 600 contact names. We did not backup the database using ACT's backup/restore feature. The only backups of the database we have are from our nightly backup program which backs the PAD, ADF, and ALF files plus the database file folder. When I restored these files from our night backup they are not accepted and the backup fails. I thought by renaming the files I could just copy a backup file but that didn't' work because the message that a program was still accessing the file and it could not be renamed would pop-up.
Is there a way to restore the database files from a non ACT backup?

Some backup programs will produce corrupt backups because SQL files are kept open by the system.
It can be tricky to try and restore the files to SQL... you would be best served by getting an ACT! Consultant or Sage Database services to look at it for you
