Reprt sort headache

I am sure that the problem is me!

Have my report designed and want to sort the report output byt field "X".

If I do selct sort by X and ascend or decend, I get only 1 page, versus many more if I do not sort.

I have insert the sort criteria in the Section Footer.

Thoughts?

Thnaks

Doug

Re: Reprt sort headache

Based on the information provided I can only make a guess about your problem but I suspect that you have a report template based on one database table that you are trying to sort by a field from a different table.

Re: Reprt sort headache

Well, I think I understand what you are saying. Am a novice

my scenario:

I have defined a 'sealesperson'

Various record managers may work with a particular record, assigbned tothis particular 'salesperson'

In my Notes-History report, I want the output to be sorted by the 'salesperson'

The notes and history subreports show 'record manager'

So, what do I need to do?

Thanks much

Re: Reprt sort headache

At this point, without examining the actual report template, I can't tell if what you want is possible.
