Because of integration problems with another programme my client would like a separate field to hold Name prefix in. I created this and copied all existing Name prefixes into the new field. Does anyone know of a way of bulk deleting the existing ACT Name prefix data?

Not sure of why the need do this based on brief info?
but check out
ACT! / Edit / Replace Field ( perform a lookup first )
Note: There is already a ACT! "Name Prefix" field.
Take daily backups of your ACT! databases + personal files b4 making any major changes.

I see your delima now.
But there may be hope ?
ACT! / File / Save Copy / Save empty copy .. to create a new database.
Then, Import data from old db into new one BUT do Not Map the Name Prefix field ?
Or try to Map your New field to the system field in new database as you are importing.
I'm not 100% certain that you will be able to do this with a system field but it wouldn't take long to find out.
There may be a ACT! Add-on that would allow you to modify a system field in this way? FSB

Thanks again for the suggestion.
Have created an SQL access link via SA log on to the ACT SQL Tables. (Testing on a backup)
Going to explore direct edit of the sub table that holds the name prefix first.
