Remote database setup

I have a remote database successfully setup on my laptop. UAC is disabled and evreything is setup for file sharing etc. The sync fails each time - I would like to dump Vista for XP but that is not an option.

When I try to sync it fails eachtime. Network Sync server is running and accept incoming syncs is enabled. Everything else on the network is fine and I can browse the main computer files fine. File sharing with full access is setup.

Any ideas please?

Re: Remote database setup

Do you receive an error message on the client, if so, please post it?  When you go into network sync service you can view log, paste the last few attempts, it may help the experts (not me btw) diagnose whats going on.

Re: Remote database setup

There are a few errors similar to that.

What's the full error message?

What version of ACT! (the full build from Help | About)?

What sync method - Application or (if Premium) Network or Internet?

If Application, is ACT! open and logged in on the server?

Re: Remote database setup

Sorry - I see you said Network Sync Server.

You shouldn't set ACT! to accept incoming syncs if using the Network Sync server. Accept incoming is for Application sync and will conflict with the sync server
