Can I allow a remote database user to sync to a handheld - how?
As I look at the handheld sync process it doesn't appear to have anything to do with the remote database...it appears to be a completely different sync. Is there a feature I need to turn on on the remote DB?

This privilege is not assigned at the RDB Sync set stage, but rather in the User Manager.
Login into either the RDB database or the host database as an Administrator, Click on "Tools", "Manage Users", and the edit that specific users prvileges - one of which is handheld syncing.
After you complete a database sync, that users newly enhanced handheld sync privileges will be on both databases, and then you're ready to setup syncing with a PDA.
Keep in mind ACT2008 only natively supports syncing with Palm and Pocket PC.

One of the nice features of Handheld Contacts is that it can be just installed on the server, centrally administered and sync'd wirelessly to Windows Mobile 5/6 and Blackberry smart phones.
This means that users don't need to install and set up their devices on their own systems
