Having a client running XP SP2 and ACT! 2008. . They had one machine whose hard drive was going bad and their IT company ran some type of utility to copy all data from the old hard drive to the new. Upon booting up the machine for the first time, ACT! prompted them to register the software. They did and everything works just fine. Then they reboot the machine and after opening ACT!, it again prompts them to register. This occurs after every reboot.
They tried an uninstall via Add/Remove Programs and a reinstall. We went through KB 14245 and found that KGyGaAvL.sys was not present in C:\Windows\System32\ (yes we were showing hidden files and folders). We also did a search for the file, again looking in hidden files and folders, and did not find it. We uninstalled ACT! via the uninstaller, reinstalled and the same issue still persists.
Anyone run into this? Any ideas or suggestions?
