Quotation marks in imported product list

Does anybody know how to eliminate the quotation marks in the NAME field when importing.

I am getting this: "1/16"" x 12"" x 1250' - (6) Perforated Air Foam(1)FW116S12P"

I would like this: 1/16"" x 12"" x 1250' - (6) Perforated Air Foam(1)FW116S12P

Hello Jim,
Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. What does the data look like in the file you are importing from? Does it have the quotes? If using Excel or a text editor, it's possible those quotes may be viewed as delimiters.

Re: Quotation marks in imported product list

The spreadsheet is 1/16" x 12" x 1250' - (6) Perforated Air Foam(1)FW116S12P

The format is .csv from excel.

The extra " are getting added in during the import to be "1/16"" x 12"" x 1250' - (6) Perforated Air Foam(1)FW116S12P", so it ios adding four "

It looks like the additional quotes are being added when the file is saved in the .csv format, and these are in turn being imported into ACT!. It appears to be a formatting limitation of the .csv format. The extra quotes would have to be removed from the file (by opening and editing it in Notepad) or from the product list itself after the import. If the quotes are removed from the source prior to importing, then they will not import into ACT!.

The csv file does not have the additional quotation marks, they are only added as it is imported.  This is a cut and paste from the .csv:

You will not see them in Excel. I saw them there when I opened the .csv file in Notepad.
