Problems importing .csv file

I am a new Act user.

I am trying to import my contacts.csv file to Act (V12).

Despite me correctly mapping the 'First Name' , 'Last Name' fields correctly, Act seems to insist on mapping 'First Name' to 'Contact', leaving the 'First Name' field blank.  Smiley Sad

Hope this makes sense.

Suggestions appreciated.

Re: Problems importing .csv file

(With apologies for replying to my own message)

I'm curious, 73 views and counting, and no response.

Is the question too  stupidly simple/badly worded ???

Re: Problems importing .csv file

Create new column in CSV File called Contact.
Concatenate First and Last Name into Contact Column.
Copy entire Contact column and paste special and then value right back into that column.
Then import and map Contact to Contact rather than First and Last to First and Last.

Let me know if you need more detailed instructions.
Thanks!

Re: Problems importing .csv file

Thank you, Leanne
That got me on the right lines...
In fact to get it working fully for me, I had to change a field to Surname, as Act did not like the Last Name field.
Thanks again
