Problems With ACT 2010 Install

Hello,

Finally after 3 days of playing about with the ACT 2010 Install we have managed to ge the software installed and working, still getting errors about impersenation user account but we managed to get past that with some work arounds.

However when we click on groups in the ACT for web install the following error log is generated and the user is logged out.

Re: Problems With ACT 2010 Install

DamarUK,

Can you please tell us about your environment which is hosting ACT! 2010 Premium for Web?

What operating system, bit version (32 or 64) and service pack level is it?

What is the regional setting on the server?

What is the regional setting  / Internet browser on the client machine that returns this error?

What are the workarounds that you mention regarding the impersenation user account?

Can you list the exact procedure that is taken which produces this error?

thanks

Re: Problems With ACT 2010 Install

I am getting similar error in the log file (ErrorLog.xls) and there are a lot of them.

"12/16/2009 2:48:02 AM Unrecognized time zone name format: (GMT+12:00) Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky could not be parsed."

* Can you please tell us about your environment which is hosting ACT! 2010 Premium for Web?

It is a stand-alone machine.

* What operating system, bit version (32 or 64) and service pack level is it?

Windows Server 2008 Standard 32Bit

* What is the regional setting on the server?

US

* What is the regional setting  / Internet browser on the client machine that returns this error?

US

* Can you list the exact procedure that is taken which produces this error?

I tested it with simple logon>select "Contacts" and then logged off.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Problems With ACT 2010 Install

We get that error too but the program appears to work on all but one machine.

"09/01/2010 16:01:20 Unrecognized time zone name format: (GMT+12:00) Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky could not be parsed."

When Act! Premium For Web Version 12.0.0.401 is accessed over the Internet this log message results.

32 bit Windows XP Pro for both Web server and client PCs.

Our server and client machines are English (UK).

Just logging in and being directed to the contacts screen is enough to produce this problem.

Re: Problems With ACT 2010 Install

Does anyone know if Sage actually looks at these errors? It's been months since this issue was discovered and yet we are getting this same crap on a freshly installed machine (Windows 2008 Server R2) with Act 12 Premium for Web. Memory consumption goes nuts and app eventually stops resposning unless you recycle the process.

Re: Problems With ACT 2010 Install

I think the error we were having at the time was that there were too many items in one of the dropdownlists.

Of course telephone support had to help us on that one.

That is their business model, I guess. I appreciate your comment.
