Problem sorting contact lists (sort is not localized?)

I've a problem sorting a contact list by "Last Name" for Czech names:

Taking a simplified example,

here's how Act! sorts it (whatever locale is used):

here's how Excel sorts it (using czech locale, else same as Act!):

It's like, for Act!, "Z" and "Ž" are equivalent.

(technically speaking, it's like Act! is sorting using Culture Invariance when sorting lists which are displayed to the end-user, or am I wrong?)

Why is Act! not taking locales into account when sorting? How can I have Act! sort lists according to the locale?

I'm using:

ACT! by Sage Premium 2008 (10.0) (ST Edition) Version, Hotfix 1

English (United States)

Thanks in advance for you help.

I don't believe the English version of ACT! is going to recongize that the character accents indicate a different level of alphabetization. It just looks at the letter itself. If you would like to see this as a feature added to the software in an update or future release, please post and discuss it on the Share Your Ideas board in this Community.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
