Printing labels

I am having an issue printing labels.

First, when I perform a lookup and print labels for that lookup only, I get way more clients to print out than what the lookup was for. Sometimes I get the labels for the clients that were looked up, and sometimes I don't.

Then, the labels do not print in a straight row. I may get two on the first page, 7 on the next, 4 on the next, and so on.

Can anyone tell me what may be causing this strange occurrence?

Re: Printing labels

What label? I've never seen anything like what you describe with the ACT! labels. For a test have you tried printing the lookup to a standard label template on plain paper?

Re: Printing labels

I need more information. Did you modify the label template? Which template are you using? Are you using an addon label printer?

Re: Printing labels

The template had been modified from ACT 6.0 and was imported to 2011. I tried editing the template and just recreating the same fields in the same places. I got the same results for both. We are using a network connected hp 2840 laser printer.

Re: Printing labels

Yes, we are using plain paper to keep from wasting labels.

It is a label we formatted to be able to print foreign addresses, mainly to the UK. Avery FS 5160.

Re: Printing labels

What I want to know is does the same thing happen with a standard label template?

Re: Printing labels

OK, that printed fine. We are going to try editing the main Avery template and saving it as a different template for the UK Labels.

Re: Printing labels

Be carefull editing a standard label template, They have several VB program scripts that can cause trouble unless you fully check and understand what the scripts are doing. In most cases it's better to start from scratch. for indepth information on the report editor and envelopes and lables, check this link. https://www.packtpub.com/sage-act-2011-dashboard-and-report-cookbook/book
