Please HELP, am unable to connect to my ACT! Db

I appreciate any help you can provide and have the following:

 

-ACT! 2009 Premium (not part of a workgroup)

  Most recent entry in ACT! Db is from November 21, 2009, however, most recent backup is from Sept. 2009.

  I have a copy of my entire C drive on an External Drive, includes:

     ACT! Db (all associated files)

     Sql Server (ACT! 7 version)

 

-My computer was infected and had to reformat my harddrive

    Reinstalled ACT!

    restored the backup Db from Sept. 2009

    I'm unable to access the most recent version of my ACT! Db (November 21) located on the External Drive

        msg box says "unable to connect to network that the database resides on........."

 

Any Ideas?  I greatly appreciate any help you can provide
