Are you attempting to remove permissions? By default/design an admin will have all available permissions, which cannot be reduced or removed. To reduce authority, consider one of the lower authority levels (ex: manager) and add/remove permissions.
Export to Excel not listed: What version of Office do you have installed? Is it 32-bit or 64-bit?
Is there a particular problem you are trying to resolve?

When I try to back up. I get a message that "you do not have permission to write to this file" I have been using Act 6 for years and this has been the first time I got this message.

The error message is "you do not have permission to write to this file"
I am using Act 6.0 and have been for a long time without problems with back up.
The problem seemed to be on my laptop which is windows 7 but a test on a desktop with windows XP had the same problem
I am trying to store the backup on a SanDisk flash drive.
I am not doing anything differently than I have for many years.
Let me know if you have any ideas.

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program and that failed. It is uninstalled and when it goes through the install process it gets to 99% and then just clicks off. Any ideas here?
