Outlook signature with mail merge issue

Hi

ACT Premium 2009.

I am having a problem with outlook signatures. Creating a normal email message adds the Outlook created signature as one would expect.

However when we do a mail merge the messages are all sent fine but no signature? Is this expected? Do we need to add the signature to the templates?

Thanks.

Re: Outlook signature with mail merge issue

When sending a email using a template (mail merge) it doesn't add the signature.  You need to add the signature to the template itself.

When you add your signature to the template if your signature contains a picture it attaches it in the attachments as well as displaying it in the email. Is there a way to display the picture in the email but not attached in the attachments other than deleting it before sending the email.

If you are running Act! version 18 or 19 and you are having an issue with images attaching to the email, then it is likely related to the recognised software defect  Defect D-04092 as referred to in this post: https://community.act.com/t5/Act/Images-in-mail-merged-e-mails-appearing-as-attachments/td-p/318982

It is many peoples' view that this defect has gone far too long without repair. If in the meantime you would like to be able to mail merge without that embarrassing issue, there are add-on products for Act! that will perform a reliable mail merge independent of Outlook but initiated in Act! and recording to Act! history.
