Outlook for E-mail Integration and Google for Contact / Calendar Sync?

Any reason why this wouldn't work or should be avoided?

Anyone using this particular setup?

Thanks,

Len

Re: Outlook for E-mail Integration and Google for Contact / Calendar Sync?

I prefer to avoid the Google sync ... Google has an issue where it can randomly dedupe and change IDs on activities/contacts - especially if being used to sync to a mobile device

This issue is NOT specific to Act! - it's been reported many times in Google dev forums

The result of this for Act1 is that sometimes it will wipe some or all the activities in Act! ... or it can produce duplicates with odd data

It can operate perfectly fine for a year (or more) ... then it will happen - sometimes gradually so that by the time you notice it, your backups are no-longer current

I had higher hopes for Google sync - had only heard positive feedback so far.

What I was after here though is whether there are any issues with having both of those integrations on at once, e.g. is there some reason that e-mail integration with Outlook would not permit Google sync.

Thanks,

Shouldn't ... I've had it set up with both Outlook and Google cutting History and then syncing to either of them.

Any reason you don't set Gmail to cut History as well?
