I'm re-organizing an ACT database that's been in use for a while and there are over 500 contact fields (w/four (4) overflow tables).
After re-organizing the DB the contact record will have around 75 fields remaining.
Is there a way to update the database to go back to 1 contact table (TBL_CONTACT, and remove the CUST tables) after purging? I'm thinking creating a new DB and importing from the old.

I think that is the best way. It is cleaner and you reduce the possibility of keeping the trash from the old database. I would recommend OakMerge to do the import, and not rely on Act!'s import feature alone.
