We recently upgraded to 18.0.501 HF4 Since upgrading, we have noticed that the opportunity history for every single field update to an opportunity gets reported also in contact history. We make a lot of routine changes in opportunity fields, and this is resulting in WAY too many entries showing up in contact history. Is there a way to turn this off? This was not happening before the last update.

Hi John,
If this is occurring for every field in an opportunity, check in Tools > Define Fields for each field, and make sure the Generate History option is unchecked. This behaviour is not configurable for certain fields like Probability which will, and has always left a history entry on the associated contact.
