Office 365 smtp server with ACT premium cloud

Hello

 

Is anyone using ACT premium cloud to mail merge via Office 365 smtp servers?

 

We have upgraded to ACT cloud and are unable to run a mail merge, ACT support indicates this is a supported configuration however it fails to send out email and ACT support have stated 'its a setting in office 365' blocking mail relay?

 

if you are using Office 365 smtp how did you get this working? any setting changes required? any advice would be appreciated.

it appears that ACT cloud can only accept simple passwords with the account used for the SMTP relay via office 365. We were using a complex password and ACT failed to process this, no error messages from ACT just no email sent, once we changed to a simple password it would relay email.

There may be an issue with Port 25 on your server being blocked - this is the port Act use to communitacte with Outlook emails.

We are using port 587

Server/smart host: smtp.office365.com

Port: 587

 

Today we have setup outlook using IMAP/SMTP and demonstrated we can send email via smtp.office365.com using the users credentials (email & password) however can't send out a mail merge via ACT cloud?
