Newbie Install question

Is there a way to prevent sql server express from automatically installing? I'm using ACT! 2008 PremiumEX. Thanks in advance.

Re: Newbie Install question

You need SQL Server Express to run ACT! Premium EX... that's what the database engine is

Re: Newbie Install question

Even if the ACT database is hosted on a different server? Reason I'm asking is that the ACT client is required by an add-on, Doublelook Enterprise, to sync to Exchange Server and I was hoping to minimize services running on the server. Would disabling the SQL services work? Thanks again.

Re: Newbie Install question

It still needs to install SQL - but you can set the Services to Manual in Services.msc

Then they'll only be started if they are needed :-)
