I just finished setting up a main act with network sync service running. I also updated that ACT to 11.1(hotfix 4)
and also the sync service to 11.1
My remote app has also been updated to hotfix 4. My problem is
say I create a new contact in main db. The sync happens and in the log it says it transferred new record.
However it won't show that new contact in the list till after I restart ACT on the remote machine. Obviously my users can't close and open ACT every couple of hours after every sync. Any ideas?
using ACT 2009 Premium btw

Hey there cmuench,
I don't have an answer to your problem, but may I trouble you for some help? I'm trying to do the same thing you've already done: set up ACT Network Sync and set up the remote DB.
Let me ask you... On the client machine, do you install the Premium For Web version or just the premium version? When I went to install the Premium for Web version it says it should be installed on a Server, so I installed the Premium version. I'm now in the process of installing the patches. Before I waste a whole lot of time, am I on the right track?
The instructions on setting this up are vague at best.
Thanks a lot for your help!

the steps I did are as follows.
Install ACT Premium on Server. Set up db and patch ACt to latest version.
install Network sync and install update version of 11.1
Go to Synchronization panel and create remote db.
I put Internal Network and then typed the public ip of my server.
I then forwarded port 65100 to the server from my firewall.
I then install ACT Premium and all patches on my client machine.
I transferred the remote db and opened it on client machine.
Then it performed sync and life was good.
