Hello Emilyflux,
If you are using Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008, try disabling User Account Control (UAC). This will require a reboot. Instructions are in these Knowledgebase articles:

Windows Vista:
http://kb.sagesoftwareonline.com/cgi-bin/sagesoftwareonline.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2022...

Windows 7/ Server 2008:
http://kb.sagesoftwareonline.com/cgi-bin/sagesoftwareonline.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2566...

Also ensure you are logged into Windows as a local administrator.

If you right click on the ACT icon on the desktoop and select "Run as Administrator" you should find the option becomes available

And just to make sure... have you created a sync set yet?
