At present our Act for Web system is running on an ageing box. There's a new server ready to go in next month, but in preparation I would like to know how it's going to work.

The new server has Windows Server 2003 SE, SQL Express 2005 and Act 11 running SP1 - Just like the old server... I'm guessing I just have to export the DB and import it on the new server? Will all the remote databases still work etc?

In order to retain synchronization, you will need to physically move the database to the new machine, rather than through a backup or an import. Please see the following Knowledgebase article for more information:
