Moving Publisher db to new server and how it might affect sync

[ Edited ]

We're moving a Publisher db to a new server, likely with a new name and new IP.  We have ~9 Subscriber dbs syncing from outside.  How will that affect them?  Will they refuse to sync given the server name has changed and the IP has changed?

In other words, what can we do to avoid re-creating remote dbs?  Yes, I know we have to change the Connection Information in the subscribers' Sync Panel.

Put another way, do the Subscriber dbs care what the server name and IP are?  Or are they happy as long as they know the secret handshake with the Publisher db?

Thanks for any advice,

Kevin

Thank-you Michael - never thought to look in the KB - it appears easy, if you know the steps.

Yup ... with over 12000 posts here, plus many other forums, I know the KB pretty well :-)

I also spend a fair time going through the KB and reporting corrections or improvements ... most of which get included

I still hate the limitations of the search ... I find stuff that most can't because I've created my own local indexes to parts of it
