Moving Database Files From Desktop to Server

I have Act Premium 2008 V 10.0.0.237 and I had it installed on my desktop. I housed the database files on my desktop for everyone use. I have now purchased Act 2012 Premium and a server. I would now like to house the database files on my server. How do I find the files and everything that goes with them on my desktop? and how do I put them on the server? Thank you in advance.

Re: Moving Database Files From Desktop to Server

Hello pwiner8304,
Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. First do a full install on the server, then follow the instructions in this KB article to move the database to a shared directory on the server:
http://kb.Sagesoftwareonline.com/cgi-bin/Sagesoftwareonline.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1981...

You would then open the database in ACT! 2012 on the server to upgrade it, then you client machines can install ACT! 2012 and access it.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
