More than 256 character file names

in our database with 6 remote users, we have the problem that ACT! creates unique IDs and puts them into the file name. By now, we have due to this fact, files in the attachment folder , with more than 256 characters. Neither ACT! nor even Windows can handle file names of that length. This can´t be the normal ACT! workflow, could it ?

For that to happen, the original filename would have to have a name well over 200 characters already, that seems pretty long to me....

Yeah I have seen that , act keeps adding GUID's onto the end of the file with each sync until the length is too large to sync.

What version and build are you using? I'm sure it has been addressed in an update.

Re: More than 256 character file names

this is still happening to me - too  long file names are preventing my backup

as it a 256 limit?

is there anyway to stop the additional IDs at the end of the file name?
