We are considering upgrading to the latest version of 2010. Previously we had migrated from Act 6 to 2009 Premium which was a long and painful road (ended up leveraging ImportIT for the heavy lifting).
Our database is highly customized... we have hundreds of additional fields and we have about a dozen extra tables through TopLineDesigner (we're big fans).
My question: how difficult is the migration to 2010? Is there any prep work we have to do? Any caveats/gotchas? Or is it a matter of opening the database in 2010 which will automatically convert a copy of the database into the 2010 schema?
One of the primary reasons we're considering the move is that we understand that some of the queries are no longer handled at the client end, but directly on the server--improving performance. Can anyone comment on any performance improvements on 2010 vs 2009?
Any insights, thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
