Migrate and upgrade from 17 to 20???

I need to migrate my Act! 17 database from our old server to our new server. Can I install version 20 on the new server, then detach from Act! 17 and attach the database to the new version or do I need to install Act! 17 on the new server, attach the database then upgrade?

Thanks

Hello...   In the previous server ... You can stop the services: SQL Server (ACT7) and SQL Server Browser ... Copy the 2 Database files (ADF & ALF) and the Folder of complementary files ... to a memory USB or external disk, paste them in a folder of the new server (I suggest it is in C: \ Users \ Public \ Public Documents \ ACT \ Act Data \ Databases) and start the upgrade process by double clicking the ADF file

It is not necessary to pass the PAD file because a new one will be created when you open the database with the ADF file in the new version

This procedure also ensures that if you have remote databases, in the new version they will appear
