Make synced copy the master

We have a master copy sat remotely on a server, and a few people syncing to it (me one of them). I'm actually the guy responsible for the databases, but I work from home. Any way that we can reconfigure my copy to be the editing master, so that I can define fields and configs and stuff?

If not, do I have to remote desktop into the server and run if from there?

Thanks for any feedback !

Re: Make synced copy the master

Hello boss_hogg,
Unfortunately, defining fields is not a function available in remote databases. if you convert your remote to a main database, you will lose the ability to sync. In order to make field changes you would need to have direct access to the main (Publisher) database.

Re: Make synced copy the master

thanks for the feedback. it's a shame it doesn't work a little more like Access in this respect, where you can make any instance in the sync set the master. I'll remote desktop into the master copy and work it that way...
