Lookups are based on field values, and unfortunately there is no accessible contact field that indicates whether a contact is or is not linked to a company record. You would have to create a field for this, then put a value in that would indicate whether the contact is asscoiated with company...a simple Yes/No field would suffice. Then you could do a lookup on that field. The way I have seen this done is:
- Create a Yes/No contact field (call it "Linked to Company")
- Create a lookup from the company detail screen (right click under the Contacts tab of the company and select "Create Lookup"). You will have to do this one company at a time.
- For each contact in the lookup, put a check in the Yes/No box you created (you can do this for the entire lookup at once by going to Edit/Replace Field, and replace the contents of the Yes/No field with value "True")
- Once you have done all companies, then do a lookup of that Yes/No field for value "False". The results will be all contacts for which you did not check the box, which should be the ones not linked to any company record
Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.
