Can anyone recommend an SSL VPN for me - a single user. I want it to secure communications from my mobile devices while out of the office - iPhone, iPad, Droid, back to ACT! Mobile on my own server in my office.
I would prefer that it be compatible with the native iOS VPN client - in other words, that I don't have to download a separate vpn client for iOS.

Did not know that - anything else I should be aware of? It was Mike's posting about using WiFi in public cafes several months back that got me to thinking.

Is that the same thread that relies on a reference to an article 'A Hackers Toolkit' and then references "This article is brought to you by PRIVATE WiFi, a personal VPN software that encrypts your data in public wireless hotspots.".
Need I say more?

I think Graeme's point is that I don't need an SSL VPN if I'm going to access my own ACT! Mobile from my server - I just need an SSL certificate for my server so I'll then go to https://myserver.whatever and I'll be encrypted. Sounds good to me.

That's true if you don't value the privacy of your data.
I have demonstrated here, using the tools in the doc that you mention, that it's very easy to read the data (even SSL encrypted) with about $100 worth of bits and pieces.
