Currently running Act 2012 Version 220.127.116.11, Hot Fix 6. We have virtualised our servers in the last few months and since then Act has been doing lots of strange things. The latest one is that when one tries to select a certain contact from a list and then go to detail view it goes to the contact but before you can do anything quickly looks up all contacts and takes you to a totally unrelated record.
Any ideas as to what is going on?

I've seen similar happen for a few different reasons. Usually when I see this I find there is database corruption. Let's go through the troubleshooting of database problems to start. They're pretty easy, and help the life of your database anyways.

Go through all of these on the computer hosting the database.
