Locked Opportunity Fields

Trying to have the Opportunity "Total" field sum up custom calculated fields not in the products/services (they are in the Opportunity).

Is this possible to unlock the field's security without the use of an addon?

Sorry but this is not configurable or unlockable.

The Total field in the opportunities is actually linked to its parent Total field in the Product/Services table. As such it can't be access by other fields in the opportunity table.

WARNING - DO NOT TRY AND TICK CREAT HISTORY IN V18 for these locked fields as it will break the opportunity table.

Wow, I didn't know that. However when I think about the SQL database structure i"m not really surprised given that the Total field in the opportunity table in a chicl of the Total in the product table and that the product table has no link to the history table.
