Since loading v188.8.131.52 on a W10 machine, the Tab Panel (lower half of the traditional contact screen) tends to encroach on the fields of the Contact Layout. It is relatively easy to grab the top of the panel and drag it down to enable viewing of the Contact fields.
In previous versions, once this realignment was done during a session, the Tab Panel stayed in place (with respect to Contact Layout) throughout the session across all contacts.
However, in this new version, the Tab Panel moves vertically to different positions on the Contact Layout such that it has to be re-positioned on every Contact being accessed. Yes, easy to reposition, but now a nuisance.
How can I set the location where the Tab Panel appears on the Contact Layout; or, establish that once it is repositioned during a session it stays in same relative place for each contact accessed?

I have a feeling this might be due to viewing Act on a high DPI display.
Support for high DPI monitors was greatly improved in Act v18.1.
You can find a third-party tool for applying the fix to earlier versions of Act in this post. Please try installing this, then try viewing an Act page with a tab panel to see if the problem is resolved.

Ahh, If this is the case, then this is likely the cause of a issue with the version of Act you have installed.
Defect D-02963 describes an issue that affects a small number of v17.2 installations, where the tab bar position will not be saved.
This issue was fixed in v18.
As for resolving the issue in v17.2, there are limited options due to the nature of the issue.
If you are unable to update to Act v18, you could try a manual uninstall of Act v17.2, and then reinstall to attempt to resolve the issue.

Thank you, Gary. Will advise IT.
On another note, with this V17 install we experience a noticeable delay when clicking on a Sales Opportunity and getting to the details. Again, this was not evident on V16 and a W7 machine. A reinstall was tried which initially helped but then the delay came back. Would you have experience/guidance with this item, as well?
