LINUX SERVER COMPATIBILITY

I am looking to changing my server to a Linux server to host Act Premium 2011.  We sync our remote data bases to the server.  Is ACT compatible with a Linux Server?

No. ACT! uses Microsoft .Net Framework and MS SQL, neither of which run on Linux

If you do want to run it under linux, the option is to host ACT! as a VM. The other alternative, which is completely unsupported by Sage, is to try WINE and/or Mono.

I had no luck with either option, I can help you if you want to give it a go, but long odds against getting it working with WINE/Mono.

Thanks for your insight, gentlemen!  I will not be attempting the Linux server. It's a situation where I am having a new website developed. The developer wants it to be hosted on a Linux server. The server I rent from Godaddy is Windows. Either my designer has to find a way to make my new site run on my Windows server or I will choose to rent a second, Linux , server to host only my websites.
