Just changed servers, can't log in to website

We just moved our application and database to another server but can't get the web site to work.  Login to the Windows app on remote desktop seems fine.  This is a single server configuration.

I should have added, we're using Premium for Web 2006.  Using the Tools -> Web Site Administration, all tests are successful.  I go to the /apfw site and it seems to accept my credentials, but just returns to the login page default.aspx.

One more piece of information.  In the lower left of my IE window, there is an error indicator.  That error says unterminated string constant at line 80, char 29, of default.aspx.  I would guess that this is a browser setting or again something with the website.  The site is trusted by my browser, so most of the settings are enabled.

Not sure if it's related, but there is a known issue wuth ACT! for Web 2006 and a recent MS update - KB970653-v3

If you have this update on the server, try and uninstall it.

Do you get this error if using the browser on the actual server?

Re: Just changed servers, can't log in to website

Our IT manages the servers, so I'm really not in a position to uninstall patches.

It does happen on the host server, when I try to browse from the IIS console.

What OS on the server?

What full build of ACT! (from Help | about in ACT! on the server)?

You might ask your IT if that update is applied... I can tell you that ACT! for Web 2006 won't workif it is applied (leter version are ok). MS only rolled it out in the past month

Re: Just changed servers, can't log in to website

It is Windows Server 2003 3790 SP2, on a virtual machine.

ACT is

ACT! by Sage Premium for Web 2006 Version 8.0.1.129

I looked in the Windows folder and I don't see the uninstall for that KB, like I do for tens of others.

Thanks for helping!

Not all updates show in that folder :-(

BTW: This is the update - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970653

You might also try updating to 8.02

I did update to 8.02, no change.  I'll work on figuring out if this MS KB was applied and try to get it backed out.

Another thought... try adding the demo database to the web and see if it happens there also? Just to see if it's database sepecific
