Issue Syncing Outlook with ACT

Hi,

 

I am learning ACT and the company has version Sage 2013 premium.  I read about how to sync ACT with Outlook but I am now getting all my internal company e-mails sent to me in ACT.  Is there a way to sync ACT with Outlook where I can still send messages to my contacts without having the internal e-mails to other co-workers also go to my ACT profile?

Tools | Preferences | Admin Tab
Click the check box to clear the "Allow history creation for e-mails... " option

Yes AWhisonant.

 

In Act!

  1. Go to Tools menu
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Go to Admin tab (far right)
  4. Uncheck the 'Allow History creation...' option
  5. Click OK

Job done!

Thanks I looked that up and it is all grey but my boss had already checked that one and the two above it.   Any other thoughts?

my other concern is if I uncheck that box, when I send e-mails to prospects will it then not go to thier profile?

When you say "checked" ... it should have no tick. Right?
Do the others have their correct email in their My Record?

When that one is unchecked, it just skips the emails of other Act! users ... still works for everyone else.

Only an Admin can change it

AWESOME!   so if I am understanding correctly.. I will have my boss uncheck that box and when we send e-mails from ACT to potential prospects it will still be recorded in their history.   But when I go to send an e-mail internally to another department or to my boss it will now no longer be sent to my record in ACT?  Is this correct?
