Invalid Layout File

Hello,

I have a web-based version of ACT Premium 2012 running on a server for 10 or so users. Someone accidentally changed the layout file on the web version, and now none of the company layouts will load. The other layouts seem fine.

I tried renaming the layout file, taking them out and replacing them, etc. but none of the company layouts will work. It says it is an invalid layout file.

Any ideas? Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Invalid Layout File

You mention replacing them. Did you get a copy of the Company layout(s) from the demo database, to use within your database? If not, try it.
It would also be good to set up the Demo through the web and test accessing the Company screen - does it also fail? Would show that the issue is database layout specific or not.

Re: Invalid Layout File

Make sure you restart ACT after copying in the layouts.

Re: Invalid Layout File

I did try the demo layouts, along with other ones... now the regular company layouts are not working either. It just says "Error Loading the Layout."

Re: Invalid Layout File

Just throwing this off the top of my head...

Any possiblity of bad permissions at the OS level??  In other words something that keep the files from being read by IIS?

Re: Invalid Layout File

Are you using a custom template that you purchased?  Permission may also be an issue here.

can you open the demo database?  do you see layouts there?

Can you open and save a layout from  within your database ?a new empty layout?

are you using any addons that change or modify the layout?  if  so disable and try again.,
