Internet Sync

I am using Act Prem 2008.

I bought it with the idea of using the internet sync. Now I ma having trouble doing that and they wont support it as a set up. It seems I have to buy a subscirption just to get it working. Doesnt see right.

How do I set this up?

Re: Internet Sync

Internet Sync is commonly misunderstood to mean "syncing across the Internet".

The Network Sync application performs Internet Syncing perfectly well, and is easy to configure.

Enable Syncing on the host computer

Create port forwarding in your router to forward all 65100 port requests to the IP of the sync server.

From the Sync server, type into a browser to get your external public IP address.

Configure this connection information in the sync panel.

Cut an RDB file from the host and restore it on the remote computer.

Once restored, you should be able to sync with the sync server from anywhere you have an Internet connection outside your network, or even within your network.

Of course, I'm glossing over the steps for the sake of brevity, but this is the basic setup procedure in the order I listed it.

I hope this helps.
