Sounds like something might have interfered with the ACT! installation process and - although it may appear to have completed successfully - the integration with your Outlook (I'm assuming that this what you're referring to by "when I go to load the email") has been interrupted in some way.
It maybe worth uninstalling ACT! and then restaring your PC in selective startup mode and attempting the install again. This temporarily disables all none-essential services (which may have caused the conflict)

thanks, I did do that. This is a new laptop and this is the 3rd program installed and I do not have outlook installed, and set up the email with internet mail.
I will try the selective startup mode and try again.

OK, delete the program, rebooted, went to control panel and did the selective services, rebooted, did the install, right when it starts finalizing install is when it comes up with the error, with no information in the error box, just two words, error and OK, click ok and then it does the same thing 3 more times.
Program loads ok except when I go to load the email function, I get the same error box with nothing in it. Updgraded to the newest build, during the install of the update I get one error box with nothing in it.
started the program numerous times only get the error when I go to load the email function.
The only thing I can think of is Windows 7 has something ACT 2009 doesn't like, but it would be nice to know what it is.
