Importing portions of info from each record from csv to ACT?

Importing csv to existing ACT! file.CSV are duplicates but have new/updated info.Companies have universal ID (like a D & B #) found in both.  Want to match and transfer imported data without erasing Act record. How?

Also, if using sync, doing mass wipes of the fields will likely make the sync so large that it times out... itImport Pro version has the ability to only update the field if it's changes, thus reducing the actual changes

ACT! won't do a field-level update to replace specific fields.

For that, you need itImport

Are there any alternate approaches to salvaging this info?

The only other option is to (1) create a backup first. (2) In ACT, delete the contents of the fields you want to update (assuming they are not the ones you are using for duplicate matching). (3) Set the import options to Merge if the records match and run your import.  This "fills in the blanks", i.e. if a field is blank it will update it with the imported data, other fields won't get updated.

However if you are going to do this on a regular basis I would do what Mike suggests and buy the importIT add-on.
