If Statement Mail Merge field codes

Hi,

Sorry if this has been covered in a previous post i have searched and cannot find what i am looking for.

I need to merge the lable of a tick box field (yes/no field) into a letter based on whether it is ticked or not.

I assume this needs to be done with an If statement but i am not entirely sure on the syntax.

for instance { if {tick_box_field} = "true" then display lable of tick_box_field if not then display nothing}.

Any help would be greatly apprceiated and if you need any other info please let me know.

we are using ACT! by Sage Premium 2009 (11.0) Version 11.0.0.367

Regards

Re: If Statement Mail Merge field codes

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your responce.

I am still having no luck with this merge,

I am using Microsoft word 2007.

When the yes/no box is ticked i want a x2 inserted into the merge. When the box is ticked a true value populates the field so heres what i tried;

 {if "{ DOCVARIABLE [ACTFIELD]TBL_CONTACT.CUST_X2_101605283 }" "{ = true }" "x2"}

 I have tried a few varients of this and can't seem to get it right and just keep getting an erroe message "object has been deleted".

 If i create a mail merge from Word and create a .odc connection to the database i can get it to work using this formula

{ IF { MERGEFIELD CONTACT X 2 }= "TRUE" "x2" ""}

 I do need to get this to work from an ACT! mail merge.

 Regards

Andrew
