How undelete an opportunity

Hi All - i meant to right click and delete a dummy opportunity that i had entered, but the one above it (or below it) deleted instead. I've no idea what that was, and i can't use "undo".  Anyway of finding out what i deleted?

using ACT 12

Thanks !

Re: How undelete an opportunity

Sorry, no undo on a deleted Contact, Opportunity or Group. It warns you once and POOF.  Restore Database from backup would be your only option and may not be worth the effort.

When we add users to a database, many times we remove the rights to delete from most users so this doesn't happen.  It's just too easy to make a mistake

Possible to retreive deleted Opportunities?

[ Edited ]

Look at the history of the contact to which the Opportunity.  There should be a history there of date created and when status changed. However, we have experienced some problems with this feature consistantly recording history.

That's exactly my problem - i don;t know what the line above was. If i was running Sage, i'd simply look at my audit trail which keeps a list of everything that you do (in order).

export the opps list to Excel from the current database and from a restored backup...make sure that you have the same sort in both lists.

An update to my earlier comment. Opportunity histories are now saved within the opportunity itself. It the past (pre ACT 12, I belive), the opportunity Histories were stored as part of the contact record and would have helped.

Other than this, Rita's idea is a great one, assuming you have a backup.
