How to manually delete SQL server?

In upgrading to V19 Premium I get the message to un-install SQL 2008R.

Is there a (sa) default password for this?

How can this be done manually?  Have tried un-installing but yet get the message.

KB #2939 has not helped.  I do not get the same windows as shown in the KB article.

Re: How to manually delete SQL server?

ACT V19 is designed to allow you to use SQL 2008R2 if already installed or give you the choice of removing SQL so it will then install SQL 2014 so your message is odd.

Is it possible that the version of SQL 2008 was already on the machine before ACT was installed and the ACT Instance added manually?  If so that might be why you are having the error messages.

Could you snapshot the messages you are getting so we can take a look at them.

Re: How to manually delete SQL server?

Got ACT installed!  After about 5 or 6 attempts I manually STOPPED the SQL service for ACT 7 under Administrative Tools / Services.  This seemed to do it.

Just to delete MS SQL Server 2008R from PROGRAMS AND FEATURES did not work.  I had to go to RECOVERY several time to start over (Outlook would not work without SQL 2008)

Thanks for your reply and assistance.
