How do you remove the add-in ACT on Outlook (redemption.dll)? I tried everything including uninstalling the Act and deleting regit. One computer didn't work with MS SQL server issue so had to install on a different computer. Now, the previsouly installed computer keep having this error message on Outlook. Please help!- Windows XP service pack 2, Intel Atom netbook

Hello jayiowan,

Try rebuilding extend.dat.  Extend.dat stores information about installed add-ins.  The file will be recreated after opening Outlook.

  1. Close Outlook.
  2. Click Start, and then click Search.
  3. Click All files and folders.
  4. In the All or part of the file name box, type extend.dat
  5. In the Look in box, click Local Hard Drives.
  6. Click More advanced options.
  7. Click to select the Search hidden files and folders check box.
  8. Click Search to search for the files.
  9. For each file that appears in the Search Results dialog box, right-click the file, click Rename, type a new name for the file (for example, type extend.old), and then press ENTER.
  10. Close the Search Results dialog box.
  11. Start Outlook.

Thank you! It worked! Man Happy

Netbook's Windows Search was difficult to use but with Companion (a dog) Search option, I was able to follow your direction.
