How do I can combine two fields into one?

[ Edited ]

Hi there.

I have some problem. There are 2 fields in my database which contains different parts of phone number. I thought that it will be a good idea, but then I realized that it was mistake. I haven't found a tool that can combine [xxxx] and [yyyyyy] to [xxxxyyyyyy] in existing [yyyyyy]-field or in the new one.

Help me. How can I solve my problem?

Re: How do I can combine two fields into one?

Hello Octavrus,

Welcome to the ACT! Online Community. Unfortunately, there is no function in ACT! that can combine the contents of 2 fields. To workaround, you could export both fields to Excel, then use the CONCATENATE function in Excel to combine the two fields into another field, then import that new fields value back into one of the fields in ACT!. See the Help menu in Excel for more information on the concatenate function, if you are not familiar with it.

Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.

May be there are some plugins or software which can do this things?

One more question, how can I add only combined number from Excel back to it's "owner"?
