How Duplicated Contacts are created?

Our company is using ACT!2008 Premium. Recently, one of our users have random duplicates of other people's contacts. On our master database, about five contacts are showing that they're his (as the Record Creator and Record Manager), yet the histories and activities tab are blank. For example, contact A and contact B show the same information for all fields, but contact B (his contact) doesn't have history nor activity. But contact A has a different Record Creator and Record Manager and the Create Date would be from three to four years ago and it has history information.

Does anyone have ideas why this has happened?

Please respond.

Thank you,

Re: How Duplicated Contacts are created?

We also have the same issue - what I have discovered is all other users can see the full record whilst the record creator only sees blank fields. I know this does not solve the problem but the only workaround I can think is only the record creator does duplicates unless the creator is an old user who does not use the system.
