Help! Network sync takes a long time then fails

Hi

I have Act! Premium 2008 v 10.0 running network sync version 10.0.1.199, with a client DB in one location and a remote DB in another.

Sync is network sync over the internet...no need for a VPN, apparently, as things were working fine until very recently with the client computer IP entered in the connection information settings for the network sync (behind a firewall) option.

Suddenly when trying to sync, the sync gets going fine, but gets stuck while 'synchronizing records' at about 3/4 progress, and then fails after many hours.

Here is a paste of the sync logs: 1st, one which ran all night but failed:

======== SYNC SESSION - 15/10/2008 20:17:58 ========

[ Info | 15/10/2008 20:17:58 ]Message: Synchronization started.
[ Info | 15/10/2008 20:17:58 ]Message: Server object created.
[ Info | 15/10/2008 20:18:00 ]Message: Checking if schema changes are available for sync.

[ Info | 15/10/2008 20:18:29 ]Message: Checking if data changes are available for sync.
[ Info | 15/10/2008 20:18:58 ]Message: Server initialized database send session: 5
[ Info | 15/10/2008 20:19:09 ]Message: Server initialized.

And here is one which looks more promising, but did absolutely nothing:

This seems to suggest that records were changed and added and updated, but actually the client DB is completely unchanged....the remote database has 1200 or so contacts, but the client database is stubbornly stuck at 936...

I am at a complete loss! I need to urgently fix this, as I am going away for a few months, and need the database syncing while I am away!!

Any help much appreciated.

Download and apply the 10.0.3 update on all your machines.  It resolved a lot of sync related issues.
