Just recently, when I open ACT Pro v16, it asks me to register. I did this everyday for a couple of weeks and finally, I couldn't register. Calling Customer Service, they reset my account which allowed me to register. Now when I open ACT, it asks me to register but then comes up with an error saying: Sage ACT has determined that Microsoft SQL Server is not running.
I clicked on my start button and typed Services.msc in the run box. When the Services box opens, I found the SQL Server (ACT7) and right clicked and selected "start". It then runs.
I shouldn't have to do this everyday. I called tech support and they told me it was a Microsoft problem and I would have to buy a support package.
Anyone have any solutions?

I am the only operator and I run ACT as the Administrator. Opening ACT this morning, I had to register once again. This time, it did not have the Microsoft SQL Server error. I went through your instructions to check all the settings and all are the same as you have listed. I will see what happens on Monday.
Thanks for the help!
Happy New Year

OK. It is Monday and I opened ACT. It still asks me to register but I didn't get the Microsoft SQL Server error. Does anyone know why it is asking me to register everyday?? I AM running it as the administrator.

When you activate the licenses, Are you an Administrator user on your windows computer? (Not in the Database)
While active ACT! - Did You disabled the Firewall and UAC?? (User Account Control)

There can be a few different reasons you're having trouble with the registration of act. Have a look at the link below. I've found the most common cause to usually be damaged windows system files. (towards the bottom of the article)
You are Prompted to Register ACT! After You Have Already Registered the Software http://kb.swiftpage.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/14245
Hope that helps.

Thank you very much for the in depth information. I printed off all instructions and went step by step checking each item off as completed including re-installing the Licensing Service. ACT still asks me to register!
I will give it another complete go round tomorrow as this takes up a lot of time.
